Thank You

I wanted to take the time to give a sincere thank you to the businesses that have collaborated with me to make the Diva Care Packages better than ever!  Without your help it wouldn't growing in popularity.

Thus far the Diva Care Packages have includes samples from Jamberry Nails.  Thanks to consultant Kristina Tharp.  There have also been cute little sample kits provided by MaryKay consultant Renata Trice. An array of samples were provided by Kelly Gentry Rossman of Perfectly Posh. Most recently Matt and Ken from Candles In The Cove have provided 4 oz soy candles that smell amazing!

Again thank you for your support.  For those of you that aren't sure what a Diva Care Package is you can view more info here

Those with unruly hair this is for you!

For those of you that know me, you've seen my big head of curly, frizzy hair.  My hair is so difficult to brush as it's prone to lots and lots of tangles.  I don't know how many brushes I've broken trying to pull through my hair (and yes I use conditioner).

My hairstylist suggested purchasing a wetbrush and after breaking yet another hairbrush I decided to give one a try.  I found one very quickly on Amazon.  I always get excited when I find an item that has free shipping with my prime membership.

I used the brush today for the first time and I'm so upset I didn't buy one sooner!  With the first few sweeps through my hair I thought hmmm I'm not sure how well this is going to work.  I continued, and after just a few more sweeps I couldn't believe my eyes.  My hair was perfectly brushed.  Not knots!!  All without that terrible ripping sound of the brush literally ripping hair out of my head.  This new brush cut the time it normally takes to brush my hair in half.  If you have unruly hair I would definitely suggest this brush!  ย

The handles has a nice feel to it as though there's a rubber gripper on it but there's not.  Love the silver color too ๐Ÿ˜ย

Evening Primrose Oil Yay or Nay

I've seen multiple posts on Facebook and Pinterest stating nothing but positive remarks about Evening Primrose Oil and why EVERY woman should be taking it.   After some additional reading I found that many women have found it greatly the frequency of headaches, helped with their immune system and also cleared up acne.   As someone that suffers from chronic headaches and now more recently migraines I've been trying to find more natural ways of treating/preventing them.

I found this box on Amazon with free PRIME shipping for $16.  I figured it's worth a try.  At this point I'd love to go a few days without a terrible headache.

I'd love to hear from anyone that has tried this product and what your results were.

Diva Care Package Review

I have been working very hard to improve my Diva Care Package program.  My goal is to provide even more to my clients so that they get to experience new items and products for an amazing price.  This falls true to my business motto.

In order to improve my care packages I have been outreaching to several companies/reps asking if they would provide samples to insert in the packages.  A few companies have come on board and I'm so happy to bring you their amazing products.

One happy fashionista decided to do a review on her YouTube channel and I want to share it with all of you.  If you have any questions about products or the care packages please ask.  Watch the review here

Homemade Smoothie

I absolutely LOVE fresh fruit smoothies.  Last year I went through a phase of making smoothies every day, usually twice a day and unfortunately I slipped from that healthy routine once winter came.  I'm now trying to get back into that routine and as I find new healthy, tasty recipes I will gladly share them with you as long as enjoy what I am sharing.

Today I made a green smoothie with one whole organic banana, a hand full of organic baby spinach,  about a quarter cup of frozen blueberries (thank you Boy Scouts of America!), one heaping teaspoon of organic honey that we pick up from a local small business,  a splash of orange juice and some ice cubes.  I like my consistency pretty thick like an Orange Julius so I blend and then add more ice and blend again.  I use a small ninja blender where the cup is the blender so when you are done you just put a lid on the cup and go.  It's so convenient!

When you use greens like baby spinach the smoothie turns a green color which most don't find too appealing however the flavor is very fruity.  Very tasty and incredibly healthy.   So please don't let the color turn you away this is a nice little treat and for someone like myself who normally doesn't care much for spinach I can get it in this way and not even taste it!

BI-FACIL Eye Makeup Remover

After a long but wonder day spent at a friends wedding then taking care of tasks around the house I needed to clean my face well especially around my eyes.  I don't know about you but I hate when I have eye liner or mascara still smeared on my face after having scrubbed vigorously with my normal cleanser.

I picked this little gem up from a makeup guru at the local Macy's in Altoona and I'm so glad that I did.  I used one cotton ball held onto the top of the bottle and tipped upside down for a second to dampen the cotton ball.  this small amount was enough to completely clean both eye lids and under eye area.  No harsh scent. Left my skin feeling soft.  Very happy!

Spaghetti with Shrimp in a Creamy Tomato Sauce-- To Die For

I absolutely LOVE shrimp so when I saw this recipe on Pinterest I just had to try it.  The pictures were so enticing I couldn't resist.  I followed the recipe exactly except for a few additions.  I added a fresh red bell pepper from the garden also about 1/2 cup fresh homemade tomato sauce.  This smelled AMAZINGLY and the final dish was absolutely wonderful.  I am adding this to my date night recipes.  I think the shrimp could possibly be replace with chicken if you're not a shrimp fan.  I'm going to try again with chicken.   You can find the recipe here.

Free Gift Opportunity

This blog is very new to the website and I'm certain it will take some time for people to catch on to the idea of checking in from time to time to see what's new and sharing their input.  I'm working with Square Space to get a subscribe feature so that you may choose to subscribe to this page should you wish.  You would then receive an email when a new blog is posted.  This title said free gift opportunity did it not?  I'd better get to it.  I'd like to offer a FREE gift to the first person who interacts with this blog page and both likes and comments on at least one blog topic. This may help get people interested!  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Avid Reader? Try BookBub

Our lives can't always be about beauty and fashion, so neither will this blog.  One of the best ways to relax (at least in my opinion), is curling up with a good book.  What better than doing so and not having to spend a ton? I came across a site called BookBub and figured I would share this with all of you as well.

BookBub is FREE and will send you email alerts when a book matching your interests is on sale or offered at a significant discount or better yet even FREE.  When signing up you are only asked for your email address and to complete a short survey in which you select what genres you enjoy reading.  From there BookBub explains that there are times where publishers offer flash sales on their books, however to find out about these sales is quite difficult and often missed.  BookBub will send you daily emails to update you on ebooks that match your interests.  From what I could find all reviews for this website were positive.  I have signed up myself and will update you all if I find any good reads/deals from BookBub.

Selfie Sticks....Annoying Device or Life Saving Accessory? You Decide!

The first time I saw a selfie stick, my initial thought was that not many people would be interested in such a contraption.  Looking back now, I may have missed out on making a few dollars off of these babies.  I myself am not too fond of taking selfies, and I feel as though a feeling of embarrassment would overwhelm me if I pulled a selfie stick out in public but that's just me.

Recently I've heard two interesting stories in which selfie sticks were involved in life altering situations.  The first story is about a man whom was struck dead by lightning and was said to be carrying a selfie stick.  I read about this here at the OpposingViews website.

The second story features a teenage girl and her father that were swimming in Nantucket, MA and were caught in a riptide.  The girl happened to be filming with a GoPro attached to a selfie stick.  The girls mother was able to swim out and reach the selfie stick and pull her in to safety.  You can read more and view the video here

How To: Eyelashes

Quick video on how I put on my falsies!

I only use duo dark tone glue I've found it to be the best adhesive I always measure the lashes against my real ones if the ends hang out past my eye I trim it back to fit then I slide a thing line of the glue across the band and let it get tacky i wait 15-30 seconds then I line the band up to my lash line. After the glue dries and the lashes are on I pinch them to my natural lashes to make sure they stay on through wind rain snow and hail ๐Ÿ˜‚ I use mascara to blend the fake lashes and my lashes together! It's super easy after a few tries!!! Lashes are from Frugal Fashionista of course!!
